Hajia Rabia Husaini Adamu Eshak


Rabia Husaini Adamu Eshak was born in Kazaure town of Jigawa state. She attended her junior primary school education at Sultan Bello Integrated Primary school, Kaduna, and completed it at Shekara Girls School, Kano in 1970. Hajia Rabia proceeded to attend the prestigious girls Secondary school, Queens College Yaba, Lagos from 1970 to 1975. In 1979, she graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a B.A. (special hons.) Degree in English Literature. She subsequently completed a dual masters degree program M.A in International Studies (Development) and an M.ed from Ohio University USA from 1980-1982.

Hajia Rabia’s public sector career spanned a period of thirteen years from lecturer at the College of Arts and Sciences in 1984, to founding Director of planning and research in the new ministry for women affairs 1989 to 1990 and Director General, Ministry for Social Development in Kano State. She was appointed as the Special Advisor to the Military Administrator of Jigawa State in 1991 when the state was created and later assigned to establish the Jigawa State Polytechnic, now Husaini Adamu Polytechnic, as the First and founding Rector from 1992 to 1994. Hajia Rabia’s public sector career was capped with her appointment as the hon. Commissioner, Jigawa State Ministry of Health and Social Development. For fifteen years since she left the public sector in 1997, she maintained a special niche in the nongovernmental (NGO) sector working as the Team Leader, field office manager, Deputy Chief of Party of several cycles of USAID northern based integrated health, democracy and good governance as well as youth development projects.

From 2004 to 2009, she led the first and largest integrated health and education project targeted at the disadvantaged communities in the north. She also managed the Northern Education Initiative, a large education sector reform project as the Deputy Chief of Party in Sokoto state from January 2010 to July 2011. She is currently the Executive Director of two Schools; First Grade College and Al-Iman School in Kano and Kazaure respectively.

Mal. Kabiru Bello


Malam Kabiru Bello is an accomplished educationist, a veteran civil servant and an excellent manager. He has been managing First Grade since 2006 as a Director Human Resource and Admin Services (DHRAS). Malam Bello was a classroom teacher from 1970 to 1974, then a headmaster from 1974 to 1976. He later went on to further his education through in-service at Bayero University Kano from 1976 to 1979.  After graduation, he went back to his place of primary assignment where he was re-posted as headmaster once more. He was later appointed as School Inspector from 1985 to 1987, then District Education Officer (DEO) from 1987 to 1991.  In 1991 to 1992, he held a position of Assistant Chief Inspector of Education (ACIE) in-charge of Curriculum Development, then Education Secretary (ES) from 1992 to 2001. Malam Kabiru Bello was promoted to the rank of Assistant Director, School Services at Kano State Primary School Management Board and later Deputy Director School Services from 2001 to 2005.   From December 2005, after reaching the 35 years in service he retired honourably. Finally, in 2006, he was employed by First Grade Comprehensive School as Academic Secretary and later his duty and responsibility was rescheduled then promoted to Establishment Secretary. He also was appointed, as Director Human Resources and Admin Services, the position he is holding presently.

Mr. Akin Fakeye


Mr. Akin Fakeye is a graduate of Yaba College of Technology and Lagos State University in the year 1998 and 2001 respectively from Public Administration Department. He did his NYSC in Kano State. As a result of his unquenchable appetite for education and academic excellence, he moved to acquire his postgraduate diploma in education at Bayero University, Kano and obtained a masters degree in business management (personnel) in Lagos state and also masters degree in Public Policy and Administration from Bayero University Kano in 2007. He has taught in various private and public secondary schools in Lagos, Oyo, and Kano state. Akin Fakeye is qualified member of various professional bodies in Nigeria, such as National Institute of Marketing, Nigerian Institute of Management, Institute of Professional Entrepreneur and Strategic Administrator and recently Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management. Presently, he is a principal of First Grade Comprehensive School Kano, a lecturer with various satellite higher institutions, here in Kano State, and a Management Consultant.

Mrs. Favor Nduka Umude nee Ekoemweye


Mrs. Favor Nduka Umude nee Ekoemweye is the Vice Principal Academics of First Grace Comprehensive School.   Mrs. Umude obtained NCE, BSc, in Business Administration from Warri College of Education and Bayero University Kano respectively, from 1995 to 2000. From 1999 to 2000 she worked as a classroom teacher in Excel College where she taught Economics and Business Studies. And in October 2002 she was employed by First Grade Comprehensive School as a classroom teacher where she taught the same subjects. Her years of experience in teaching these subjects made her to be the best in the field. Therefore, the school management appointed her as Head of Arts and Commercial Studies Department. Due to her diligent and selfless service to First Grade, the school promoted her to the rank of Vice Principal (Academics) since 2011, the position she is managing well till date.  Mrs. Umude’s quest for knowledge led to her enrollment once into master’s programme in Bayero University Kano from 2011 to 2013. She obtained an additional certificate in Masters Business Administration MBA (Human Resources).

Malam Awwal Shehu Mijinyawa


Malam Awwal Shehu Mijinyawa is a skilful accountant and experienced finance officer before his appointment with First Grade Comprehensive School in 2009. Malam Awwal is a graduate of Kano State Polytechnic with Higher National Diploma (HND). He held a position of Assistant Manager in Lubat Enterprises Limited Kano, and Page Commodities Kano from 1999 to 2003 respectively.  Because of his thirst to teach, in 2003 he became a classroom teacher with the Kano State Teachers Service Board. He also worked with various NGOs like COMPASS, Pathfinder, and USAID/pathfinder project. He started in First Grade as a Financial Consultant from 2009 to 2011. He was appointed as the Finance Manager of the school from 2011 to 2012. He was promoted to compliance officer in 2012 in-charge of the school compliance unit to ensure adherence to  the school laid down financial procedures.

Mr. Nazifi Sani


Mr. Nazifi Sani was born in Gumel Local Government Area of Jigawa State.  He attended his early education in Gumel at Nasoro Special Primary School and Kafin Hausa Science Secondary School all in Jigawa State. Mr. Nazifi proceeded to Kano State Polytechnic where he studied Marketing. In later years, he engaged in private business from 1997 to 2010 when he joined First Grade Comprehensive School as Business Development Manager. Mr. Nazifi is the brain behind the milestone record set by the school in terms of marketing and business ventures. He is currently enrolled in a masters’ programme in Business Administration, MBA.

Malam Abdul Muhd Ama


Malam Abdu Muhd Ama obtained his degree (B.Ed) programme at Federal College of Education, Kano in the Department of Islamic Studies in 2005.  Malam Abdul has taught in various private schools. He is a qualified teacher by profession and an outstanding and diligent organiser. He attended teacher training secondary school, and also obtained Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E). He is presently Vice Principal I (Admin) .

Mrs. Titilayo Olumoroti


Mrs. Titilayo Olumoroti formerly Oyewale Titilayo is a graduate of Kano State College of Education, Kumbotso Kano State where she obtained Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) in 2005. She is presently undergoing her degree programme in Ahmadu Bello University Kano Campus in Biology Education. Mrs. Olumoroti has taught in various private schools in Kano state, such as the Staff School, Federal Government College, Kano, Goldster Group of Schools among others. She is the Headmistress of First Grade Elementary School.

Aishatu Abubakar Adamu

Mrs. Aishatu Abubakar Adamu holds Bsc Accounting from Bayero University Kano. She earlier attended Kaduna Polytechnic and Air force Secondary School in Kaduna State. Mrs. Ashatu Abubakar worked with Dangote Groups of Companies in Kano. In 2012 she was appointment as  the school Accountant 1 till date. Mrs. Abubakar is currently a student of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria Kano.

Imran Zakari


Imran Abubakar Zakari holds B.sc Geography from Bayero University, Kano. Malam Imran served with the FCTA (Development Control) Abuja from 2010 to 2011. He got an appointment with First Grade Comprehensive School Kano in 2012. He earlier served as Personal Assistant II to the Executive Director before his well-deserved promotion and subsequent transfer to finance department of the school. Malam Imran is presently an Accountant Officer II of the school. Mal. Imran is at the moment, undergoing postgraduate diploma in Development Studies at Bayero University, Kano.

Malam Shu’aib Haruna

Malam Shu’aib Haruna was born and grew up in Kano State. He has a Diploma in English and Arabic Education from Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano. Before joining First Grade Comprehensive School in 2010, he worked with Government Girls Senior Secondary School Gwagwarwa from 2007 to 2010. He was hired at First Grade as Arabic teacher and later promoted to the position of Assistant Examination Officer. In 2012, Mal. Shu’aib was promoted once more to the rank of Examination Officer. He is an active member of various task teams, the procurement committee, form master and classroom teacher.

Ashiru Tukur Umar


Ashiru T. Umar holds a Masters Degree (M.A) in History from Bayero University Kano, and his first Bachelor of Arts (special Honors) in History in the same institution in 2006. From 1995-1999 he graduated with the NCE from Federal College of Education Kano.  He worked with State Universal Basic Education Board as classroom teacher from 2008 to 2012.  In 2012 he attended a computer certificate in New Horizon computer Institute, Abuja, Mal. Ashiru attended Skynet computer Institute at Kano in 2009.  He was a manager in El-Naseer Computers Ltd from 2002 to 2006.  He is currently the Documentation Officer of First Grade Comprehensive School Kano, responsible for producing Trumpet News Bulletin of the school, the school magazine, and yearbook since October 2011.
